DeafDigest - 07 November 2014

DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, November 7, 2014   -- a new movie pretty much ignores a deaf person "On Any Sunday" is a new movie that features top motorcross racers. One of the racers in that movie was a deaf racer, Ashley Fiolek, a past world champion. This movie, unfortunately, pretty much ignores her, giving her only a short part. Fiolek, by the way, is pretty much retired, despite her youthful age. She said she would race again, but has not raced in two years.   -- A big imaginary race coming up In San Francisco, there are pizza fans that have been talking about an imaginary race among mobile pizza trucks. It is not a real race. Anyway, the deaf-owned pizzeria - Mozzeria, was mentioned in this imaginary race, competing against Casey's Pizza and Del Popolo. Would Mozzeria win? No, but it has nothing to do with the pizza quality but with the vehicles. The Mozzeria is a slower cable car whereas others are "faster" trucks!   -- The Election Day mess, continued! DeafDigest mentioned that the Corpus Christi Deaf Center had to clean up the Election Day posters mess, but did not know why. It was learned that this Deaf Center was the polling place for the neighborhood voters. Since this center was paid to serve as the polling place, the employees are "obligated" to clean up the mess, whether they like it or not!   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deafdigest1 Twitter: @deafdigest to make subscription changes, go to http://deafdigest.com, click on the "subscribe" icon and follow screen instructions 11/02/14 Blue edition at: http://deafdigest.com/category/newsletter/newsletter-blue-newsletter/ 11/02/14 Gold edition at: http://deafdigest.com/category/newsletter/newsletter-gold-newsletter/
