-- a possible perfect job for the deaf
What is a possible perfect job for the deaf
in the future? A writer of a high tech
web site said that closed-circuit television
surveillance jobs may be ideal for the deaf.
In fact, in South Africa, there are classes
for the deaf in surveillance in hopes that
some of these graduates will find jobs
in that field.
-- a Cheerios TV commercial
Cheerios TV commercials in Canada are sometimes
different from those in USA. One new commercial
shows two cousins that look like and act like
sisters; one of these two cousins is deaf.
Cheerios has not yet decided if these Canadian
commercials will show on American TV sets sometime
in the future.
-- invisible hearing aids not a good idea
Invisible hearing aids not a good idea? This is
what one person wrote in a newspaper. Reasons?
Hard to place a thin wire in the ear. If the
hearing aid is dropped, hard to find it on
the floor. Or if it is taken off, may forgot
where it was placed on the table or desk.
Hard to touch the switch. Hard to replace
the tiny battery, etc, etc.
