Isabelle Lim, a young deaf woman from Singapore, won the
first price at the World Digital Media Awards. She
beat out videos from Latin America and Europe.
The organization giving out these awards is the
World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers.
-- Taiwan seizes foreign deaf passports
The Asia Pacific Deaf Games, taking place right now in
Taiwan, is getting ugly behind the scenes. A group
of deaf athletes from India were forced to sleep
on the streets because they couldn't get hotel
rooms. And when they finally got rooms, the government
got ugly and seized the athletes' passports!
Something to do with Taiwan not trusting India
to pay for athletes' hotel rooms!
