-- legendary gangster's deaf son
Al Capone was a notorious gangster that ruled
Chicago during the Prohibition years. What
many people do not know is that he had a deaf
son - Sonny Capone. His legal first name is not
known. A picture is at:

-- Netflix captions vs Netflix no captions
Netfix is trapped between captions on their streams
and no captions at movie houses! Netflix reached
a deal with iPic Entertainment theater chain
to show their own movies. Deaf patrons can
watch captions at these movie houses only if
they wear special devices, but they do not
need special devices to watch captions on
their home computers. Is this Netflix's way
of half-laughing at the needs of deaf
movie-goers?
-- archaelogists digging into a deaf house
In Boise, Idaho a group of archeologists
are now digging into a deaf house, where
famed deaf artist James Castle lived for
years before he died in 1977. His scribblings
on pieces of wood and paper have been
preserved and shown at art museums, as
far as Madrid, Spain. This is probably
a first - that archeologists have
shown interest in a deaf house.
