-- a big joke of a government call
A deaf man from a New England state dialed up
a 211 call, via a relay service. He wanted
to discuss a matter on a local government level.
The call went directly to California's 211
network! Knowing nothing about local New
England issues, the operator was forced to
google on-line to give the information the
deaf man wanted. So, is 211 a joke? Yes!

-- January 24th, TV fans to hold the date
Deaf TV fans that are hooked to "Switched at Birth"
would need to hold the Tuesday, January 24, 2017
date. The fifth and final season will start on
that evening.
-- deafness and the military waiver
There are military waivers for those that want
to join the military but would ordinarily be
disqualified. Could a deaf person apply for a
military waiver? One person did - but it
led to so much red tape. He waited a year
for the military waiver to be approved
only to be told the approval was cancelled.
In other words, as it is right now, it is a
million in one shot for a deaf person to join
the military.
