-- interpreters for deaf at cartoon convention
Anthrocon 2013 convention took place in Pittsburgh.
It is for animators, writers, costumers, puppeteers
that work on cartoon animals. These animals show up
on cartoons, and they look like humans. Six deaf
individuals attended the convention. Forthe first
time, the convention hosts provided interpreters for
them! Three of them wear animal suits used to
entertain people at public events.
-- 3-D printer and the deaf
3-D printer is an invention that "can" build just about
anything. What about building something on 3-D printer
for the deaf? It can. 3-D printer was just used to build
a bionic ear to help the deaf to hear better. But it is not
done quickly. It takes 10 weeks for the bionic ear to become
perfect (from hard molding to soft molding).
-- Southwest Airlines and DISH ignoring the deaf?
Both Southwest Airlines and DISH announced "TV Flies Free"
which is free movies for passengers. Are these movies
captioned? A deaf person contacted both Southwest Airlines
and DISH. So far, no response from them.
