Do deaf people have bad experiences in jail? Many of them
do - and the Oregon Association of the Deaf is trying
to do something about it - to collect bad experience
stories from the deaf people that have been arrested.
-- a judge gives unusual punishment for a deaf person
Sean Young, a member of the Irish Deaf Men's soccer team,
was arrested for dealing with drugs. The judge felt
the hearing were taking advantage of Sean's deafness.
Still, Sean had to be punished. The judge ordered
Sean to donate 750 euros to charity in order to
avoid going to jail! Sean accepted the deal.
