-- Why FCC allows some non-captioned internet videos?
On September 30th, we have new FCC rules on captioned videos.
Are we happy about it? Yes and no. Why no? If the video was
never shown on TV, then it does not have to be captioned!
We will be seeing more and more videos that avoid TV, and
so, captions are not required. This is a BAD law.
-- Will deaf reality TV star win?
Sam Evans is deaf and is a reality TV star with "Big Brother:
Secrets and Lies" that is shown in Great Britain. The British
bookies like him and made him a favorite to win (British people
love to gamble). His enemy Callum Knell, who was kicked off
the program, said no one on the show likes Sam!
-- Russia's Winter Olympics and Winter Deaflympics?
Russia is hosting 2014 Winter Olympics. Will it also host
the 2015 Winter Deaflympics? During the meetings among
deaf delegates at the Deaflympics, no nation wanted to
host the 2015 Winter Deaflympics? The new president
is a Russian - Valery Rukhledev. He recently said he
wants Russia to host the 2015 Winter Deaflympics.
Possibly it may be up to Putin.
