-- film about three travelers (deaf, blind, and non-talking)
We laugh at the three wise monkeys (one covering ears, one
covering eyes, and one covering mouth). But if they were
human beings, could three of them travel well together?
There was a film of these three human beings traveling
togeether through Europe. That film is being shown at the
Film Festival of Eindhoven (in the Netherlands). It shows
the problems they faced and how they helped each other.

-- more deaf Barbados natives in New York than in Barbados
A newspaper story today was about a deaf man that lives
in Barbados. He said that he only sees just a few deaf people
in that country, but when he vacations in New York City,
he meets many deaf ex-residents of Barbados!
-- to be deaf-enough or not-deaf-enough
Is there such a thing as being deaf-enough or not being
deaf- enough? Years ago a deaf woman who was selected as
deaf president of Gallaudet (that the students opposed)
made newspaper headlines. She told the reporters that
the protesters looked down on her as not being deaf-enough.
There is a parallel in Great Britain. A deaf boy was
turned down by his school district when he applied
for an Educational Plan (same as our own IEP). They
said the boy was not deaf-enough. He is deaf in one
ear and severely deaf in another ear. Still not
deaf enough for these school district people.
