There was a newspaper story saying that less and less deaf children are using sign language. Surveys have shown that there was a 25 percent drop among deaf people using sign language within the past 10 years, especially among deaf teenagers. It is a sad trend because for years this sign language was suppressed by schools for the deaf; this language survived thanks to deaf adults using it in deaf clubs and at deaf events. (same thing in USA).   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deafdigest1 Twitter: @deafdigest 01/05/14 Blue edition at: http://deafdigest.com/category/newsletter/newsletter-blue-newsletter/ 01/05/14 Gold edition at: http://deafdigest.com/category/newsletter/newsletter-gold-newsletter/
