-- Nyle's biggest nightmare
Nyle DiMarco, who is deaf, is the America's Next Top Model,
the last one ever, as this TV program is closing up for good.
What was his biggest nightmare during the competition that
lasted 15 weeks? He, and other models, had to do a
photoshoot - in complete darkness! Hearing models can
get voice instructions from the photographer while
moving around in the darkness. Nyle couldn't - but
somehow survived this photoshoot! Here is another
picture, not in darkness!

-- a difference of 400 years
Franklin Fahnbulleh, deaf leader in Bermuda, gave a
speech. He said that the deaf of Bermuda are 400 years
behind the times as compared to the deaf of South America,
Canada, Great Britain, the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
400 years ago is Year 1615. The 17th century deaf people
were not exactly better off - no captions, no interpreters,
no education, no ADA, etc. Why did Fahnbulleh make that
400 year claim? Good question!
-- a confession of an employer that hired a deaf person
An employer made this confession, after hiring a deaf person:
It is much easier to communicate with a deaf person,
with notes and gestures, than to communicate with a
hearing person that knows no English!
