-- sigh, another fake interpreter
As reported by a DeafDigest subscriber, the graduation
ceremony on the TV series finale, Madam Secretary,
was "interpreted" by a fake-signing interpreter that
really knew nothing about ASL. Said the angry subscriber:
How hard would it have been to have a real interpreter
on the set?

-- deaf club fell asleep
It has happened too many times in the past,
and it is happening again - that a deaf club
in mid-America has reported theft of
money. It was strongly suspected that two
former club officers took money from the
club banking account without permission.
Police is investigating. What this means
is that club officers must keep their
eyes open instead of being too trusting!
-- happened in 1950's, happening again
During the early fifties, Lowell Myers,
a deaf attorney/accountant achieved an
academic feat - that made Chicago
colleges angry. He earned a masters
- before - earning his bachelors!
It is happening, sort of, today.
Kate Croteau, a high school senior,
that is deaf, already has a college
degree and is working on a second
college degree - before finally
graduating from high school!
Is this a great idea? Don't know;
don't like to rush a teenager before
having a chance to grow up socially.
