DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, September 11, 2015 morning -- an automatic red flag Unfortunately for us, the red flag among many hearing businesses is the word "deaf." A hearing businessman said many businesses are trained and better informed to deal with fake TTY calls, fake relay calls and fake text messages that mention this "deaf" word. One businessman said he gets many fake messages, and instead of hanging up, he would play conversational games, and these scammers would go away (but look for another victims).     -- police laugh off a house raid In a small British town, the police raided the house of a deaf person, thinking a crime was taking place there. It was the wrong house. The police did not apologize to the deaf owner. In fact, they laughed it off.
