DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, August 12, 2013 -- the deaf son of the Abu Dhabi prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the crown prince of Abu Dhabi. This nation is part of the United Arab Emirates empire. He is a politically powerful person and is married to Shaikha Salama bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan. One of their children is deaf. The deaf son's first name is spelled something like Sharoo. DeafDigest wonders if the crown prince is sensitive to the needs of the deaf because of his deaf son, Sharoo?     -- a junior college says medical labs are dangerous for the deaf! We have many, many deaf individuals employed in medical, biological and chemical labs. Gallaudet and NTID, for years, have trained their deaf students for jobs in these labs. Well, the Community College of Baltimore County (Maryland) refused to allow a deaf student to enroll in a lab class, saying it is not safe for her! She filed a lawsuit and won!     -- a famous deaf priest kicked out of airplane Father Cyril Axelrod, a well known South African deaf-blind priest who has traveled everywhere in the world with no problems, was not allowed to board a plane in South Africa! Even though his travel agent has always informed the airlines of his blindness, the British Airways flight staff still would not allow him to board! Why was he not allowed, the British Airways would not provide an asnwer.     Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deafdigest1 Twitter: @deafdigest 08/11/13 Blue edition at: http://35.182.75.222/category/newsletter/newsletter-blue-newsletter/ 08/11/13 Gold edition at: http://35.182.75.222/category/newsletter/newsletter-gold-newsletter/
