-- a rare field for deaf employment
How many deaf people work in construction trades
(heavy machinery, skyscrapers, hauling stuff
around, etc)? Too few according to a deaf man
that worked many years in construction. Well,
one construction company has hired many deaf
men. Do see the picture at:

-- knowing when a person is deaf
There are some hearing people that can tell
if someone is deaf even when there are no
hearing aids or CI or if the deaf person
is saying nothing. A deaf woman went to
a salon to have her nails done. She wanted
a certain color and instead of trying
to pronounce that color name, she
showed the salon hostess the iPhone
that had a picture of that certain
color. A young woman, working at the
salon, saw the whole thing and
came over, using sign language. She
is a Coda, and knew these deaf
body language movements!
-- bad, bad Philadelphia
The U.S. Department of Justice said that
Philadelphia Police Department discriminate
against the deaf. They put handcuffs on the
deaf behind their backs, preventing the
deaf from communicating. They did not tell
the courts that deaf people need video
communications. They did not provide
interpreters for the deaf. Shame,
bad Philadelphia!
