during a job interview, if the interviewer asks "is English
your first language?" it may be illegal when asked of a strong
ASL user. Many laws, including ADA, make that question illegal.
-- a very special movie for the deaf
In the metro Kansas City area, there is a movie theater that
is showing a very special movie - for the deaf. The movie is
"Monster's University" - but why is it special? It is open
captioned - shown at drive-in movie! Do we find other drive-in
movie places that show open captioned movies? Not sure. Anyway
it is the Boulevard Drive-In, and it was sponsored by an agency
- The Whole Person.
-- Deaf-Blind people are screaming
What are Deaf-Blind people screaming about? Access to relay
services! We only have two internet relay providers remaining.
A big issue is the TeleBraille TTY not being made any more
and these in stock will run out.
