Bingo is a popular game with many people, both deaf and
hearing. For the Louisiana Association of the Deaf,
bingo is thanked big time. Money earned from bingo
has helped this state association maintain its
own office. Most state associations don't, but
Louisiana does! Bingo is also popular at many
deaf events, though.
-- a big question about a case 32 years ago
Felix Garcia has been guilty of murder in a
1983 case in Tampa, Florida. Felix said he
was deaf and could not follow the court
proceedings. The prosecution says Felix
was just faking his deafness. Who is right?
Over 100,000 people have signed a petition
to try to free him, saying he was framed
by family members.
