-- a cruel Costco manager
A Costco manager just did not want to supervise
a deaf employee, deciding to give that employee
hard time. He would mumble, making lipreading
impossible; he would also cover his mouth
again. When the employee asked for an interpreter,
he said no. When the employee asked to write
notes, he refused. The biggest mystery is
that the Costco headquarters knew about that
manager but said "hands off"

-- closed captions best for hearing people
many hearing people hate closed captions.
A web graphics consultant said closed captions
are the best for hearing people - because sometimes
the person's moth moves but really says nothing.
Hearing people hear nothing, but for the deaf,
closed captions show up from that quiet moving
hearing mouth! Hard to believe.
