DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, June 13, 2016 -- no respect for closed deaf school A deaf school closed up 13 years ago. The building has been vacant since then. No one protects the abandoned property. As a result, it has been vandalized. This closed school is in Great Britain. A picture is at: http://deafdigest.com/no-respect-for-closed-deaf-school/   -- many churches discriminate against the deaf Do churches discriminate against the deaf? There is a list of over 5,000 churches that do not want to caption and have asked the FCC to allow them NOT to caption. Discrimination? Yes!   -- abuse of deaf workers is common DeafDigest mentioned several times that a deaf foodcourt cleaner in Malaysia was verbally abused by an angry woman. Her abuse went viral and everyone supported the deaf cleaner. It was later learned that deaf food cleaners are often abused by hearing people - but these abuses did not go viral except for that one last week! They are abused because they cannot communicate and these hearing people get angry.     Latest deaf jobs: http://deafdigest.com/category/jobs/ Barry's collections of past articles (with today's update) -- Bus Driving paradox, deaf http://deafdigest.com/collections/barrys-collections/ 06/12/16 Blue and Gold editions at: http://deafdigest.com/newsletters/
