A deaf man, who does not use sign language, has
a big complaint. He was in Florida during Hurricane
Matthew. He watched the TV news to keep himself
updated on these captioned emergency news. Yet when
a special announcement was made, the captions
disappeared, and was replaced by an interpreter.
For non-signing deaf, these interpreters are

Yesterday DeafDigest mentioned that Trump
made a negative comment about Marlee
Matlin (about her appearance). It was just
revealed that he also called her retarded!
Trump does not realize that Marlee holds
a honorary doctorate from Gallaudet.

Who is Mark Lacek? He is not deaf but just
started his own business - which advises
big corporations to make their web sites
fully ADA-compliant. And for the deaf, it
means full captions on anything that comes
out in voice. This may be the reason why
big corporations hate him!
