-- third deaf attempt was successful
Could a deaf person, himself a school drop out with only 7th
grade education, be able to build an aircraft that was
shown on Discovery Channel? Saji James, from a small
village in India, tried three times to build an ultra-light
two-seater aircraft. First two attempts failed because
of mechanical and technical difficulties. With the help
of an experienced mentor, he was successful on his
third attempt. Can he fly this aircraft way up in the
skies of India? No. He lacks a pilot's license and is
only allowed to fly up to 30 feet in the air! The

-- Facebook has a deaf goal
Facebook is growing by leaps and bounds. And
Facebook announced yesterday that it has a
Deaf Goal. It is to create captions in hearing
videos. Will it succeed?
-- Matt Hamill is a happy person
Deaf fighter Matt Hamill, who lives in
Utica, NY, is now a happy man! He has always
dreamed of fighting in front of his deaf
fans in New York. This type of fighting was
not permitted in New York - until the
state legislative body recently passed a
law to allow it. Don't be surprised if
he arranges for a Fight Night in Rochester,
NY in front of his deaf fans - as he is a
NTID graduate!
