-- the deaf in the military
There is a push among some congressmen to allow
the deaf to serve in the military. Will the
deaf actually fight military battles? Certainly
not! A military officer said that one must
hear during the battles in order to protect
their fellow fighters. An enemy fighter
could tiptoe behind a deaf fighter, and
put other fighters in real danger.
Most likely the deaf would be assigned
to non-military assignments - computers,
paperwork, kitchen, warehouses, etc.
It is the same as deaf volunteer
firefighters not fighting in real fires,
but helping in the background - water hoses,
keeping people away, bringing supplies, etc.
-- Philadelphia Deaf versus Pittsburgh Deaf
Philadelphia Deaf versus Pittsburgh Deaf! A
big fight? No. A Philadelphia Certified
Deaf Interpreter said Philadelphia has
many Certified Deaf Interpreters.
Pittsburgh - no Certified Deaf Interpreters!
Why? Good question!
