-- Secret Deaf Mission for hearing Santa Claus
Santa Claus just performed a Secret Deaf Mission!
Sean Sikes, a deaf man from Fort Wayne, IN wanted
to propose marriage to his girl friend Mikki
Bergman. Mikki loved shopping at a local mall,
and Sean made arrangements with the mall
headquarters to have the Santa Claus get
involved with the proposal. Mikki's daughter
sat on Santa' lap and told him about it,
and then got up to interpret Santa's
announcement. It was witnessed by
family and friends. Mikki said yes to the proposal.
-- star deaf athlete with no job or endorsements
Field hockey is a big sport in India.
Star hearing players get jobs and TV
commercial endorsements. Abdul Samad,
the first deaf player to play in national
field hockey championships, has no luck.
Friends and contacts have promised him
jobs, but still nothing so far. It
didn't matter that Abdul has won
many honors and awards for his play.
Very difficult to overcome discrimination
in India.
