-- post office strike helps fired deaf get back his job
A deaf man, Andrew Mootoo, was fired from his job with
the British post office because of his illness.
As a result, members of the Communication Workers
Union staged a surprise 24-hour strike to force
the post office to rehire the deaf employee.
Negotiations between the union and the post office
went on for a long time - until the deaf employee
was rehired. Officials said they have never seen
something like that in the past. A picture of the
deaf man holding up front page of a newspaper is at:

-- a rare deaf automobile accident
What is a rare deaf automobile accident? It is when
a deaf driver gets into an accident with a deaf driver!
This accident took place. Both deaf drivers did not
know each other. Million-in-one odds?
-- deaf that reads hearing minds
Could a deaf person read hearing minds? If a
hearing person can't communicate with the deaf,
then best thing is to read his mind! A big
issue at a world conference was robots that
read minds. Such mind-reading devices in
year 2030 are smartphones, tablets and
computers. Exciting or scary?
