DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, February 16, 2016 -- post office strike helps fired deaf get back his job A deaf man, Andrew Mootoo, was fired from his job with the British post office because of his illness. As a result, members of the Communication Workers Union staged a surprise 24-hour strike to force the post office to rehire the deaf employee. Negotiations between the union and the post office went on for a long time - until the deaf employee was rehired. Officials said they have never seen something like that in the past.
