DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, February 17, 2015   -- no captions on weather news Could a major TV network show bad weather news without captions? CBS, at around 330-345 AM this morning, had no captions on its weather news program. DeafDigest editor, wanting to get weather updates, was disappointed with this lack of captions. Yes, the FCC has been notified about it. But what could FCC do about it? Not much, probably!   -- stuck in Maine A deaf schools basketball tournament took place this past weekend in Portland, Maine, hosted by the Governor Baxter School for the Deaf. Because of the snowstorm, the West Virginia School for the Deaf basketball team is still stuck in Maine. The coach said there may be no flights to Washington, DC until Wednesday night!   -- another deaf-owned business in Frederick A while ago DeafDigest mentioned that there is a deaf-owned business in Frederick - Patty Cakes. There is another one - EmbroidMe, owned by deaf partners Amy Phillips and Angie Foster. It prints name, image, logo or message on a piece of clothing. It was also learned that Frederick has more deaf-owned businesses that we are not aware of!
