-- 2nd best political ad is deaf video!
The TIME Magazine picked the best political ads; coming in
2nd place is the sign language ad by a political candidate
with an interpreter. The TIME Magazine said this ad was
unusual because of no voice with captions and also because
of no political promises.

Just scroll down the screen until you reach the #2 video.
Who is the candidate? Not telling you; you have to visit to
find out!
-- no more high school basketball for a deaf referee
A deaf basketball referee told DeafDigest editor he has
stopped refereeing high school basketball games. He will
referee only recreational league basketball. Most referees
want to move up the ranks, but not that deaf referee. Why?
He said he is tired of trying to communicate with the
hearing people. Do keep in mind interpreters do not run
with the deaf referees on the basketball floor!
-- a Comcast horror story with a deaf customer
Everyone hates Comcast. Their customer service department
hassles with customers that want to cancel the service.
A deaf man did not want cable TV that came with the Comcast
package. He only wanted the internet service. He contacted
Comcast through video relay, wanting to cancel cable TV
only. A terrible hassle took place and the deaf person
gave up and is stuck with the unwanted cable TV service.
He was told he could not cancel TV but keep internet.
This is not true, but the deaf person is stuck with the
higher Comcast monthly bills.
