DeafDigest - 18 February 2016

DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, February 18, 2016 -- many signs and posters near Deaf Service Agency The Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Corpus Christi, TX was the scene of many signs and many posters. What was this all about? Take a look at: http://deafdigest.com/posters-and-signs-near-deaf-service-agency/   -- a hot thing in a small deaf community If a deaf community is small, then things should also be small. Well, at University of Minnesota-Duluth, the hot thing is Deaf Studies as a minor among these students. The university is not exactly small, as it has nearly 11,000 students - and Deaf Studies is the second most popular minor on the campus! Great to see a small deaf community having a huge impact on a big university.   - one of the world's biggest corporations is a cheapskate The Walt Disney Company is cheap, hating to spend pennies! This company removed interpreters at Disney on Ice shows in Australia. The Australian Deaf Community is very upset about it. What did the Disney people say? They said: no one watched the interpreters last year! Can't happen in USA. We have ADA, you know.     Latest deaf jobs: http://deafdigest.com/category/jobs/ or click on "jobs" past Mid-Week & morning editions: http://deafdigest.com/category/mid-week-news/ 02/14/16 Blue and Gold editions at: http://deafdigest.com/newsletters/
