DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, November 18, 2016   -- The Big Pepsi irony We have a Big Pepsi irony. Pepsi has always captioned the Super Bowl. Thank you, Pepsi - but there are no captions at the Pepsi Center in Denver. A lawsuit has been filed for that reason. Basketball, hockey and soccer fans are frustrated with no captions. See the picture at: http://deafdigest.com/pepsi-center-funny-captions/     -- fired for showing concerns about the deaf past Nampa (Idaho) Deputy Fire Chief Doug Strosnider was fired from his job in 2014. He filed a lawsuit against the city over this wrongful firing. He claims that one of the reasons he was fired was because he inspected an apartment building, and was told by the landlord that deaf people were not allowed to live in these apartments. He made a big issue out of it and it cost him his job. Settlement has been reached in that case.   -- to stay or to move out Many deaf people are frustrated while living in small towns. Reason is that services and opportunities for them are limited. Many of them stay because of strong network of family and friends, even giving up opportunities that bigger cities offer. Is there a perfect solution?
