-- deaf man awarded the Kentucky Colonel honor
Kelly Faust, a deaf leader in Georgia, was awarded
a Kentucky Colonel. It is a big award for leaders that
have contributed so much to the community on a local
or state level. He is currently the vice president of
Georgia Association of the Deaf (GAD). And it makes
GAD proud to have two Kentucky Colonels, since, since
the president, Frank Lala already has this honor!

-- Adham Talaat at the Seattle Seahawks tryout camp
The Seattle Seahawks tryout camp has ended. Gallaudet’s
Adham Talaat was one of the 41 rookies trying out for
the very few open slots on the roster. Coach Pete Carroll
has not offered any of the rookies a free agent contract
yet – wanting to fully evaluate them before decisions
would be made. Carroll said that Adham worked really hard,
doing a nice job of showing his toughness and that he will
give a great effort. In a non-tackle scrimmage on Sunday
he sacked the quarterback. We will wait and see.
-- another deaf funeral director
For years we have known that Lori Kober have seemed to be
the only deaf director of a funeral home (in South Dakota).
There is another one – Danny Jefferson, director of the
Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home in Kernersville, a town of
17,000 people in North Carolina. He has been in the funeral
Services field for many years.
