-- a very patient hearing customer
It was mentioned a while ago about a deaf cashier
at Whataburger in Denton, Texas, causing long
lines because of his deafness. It was just learned
that the deaf cashier did not lipread his customers'
orders - but had these customers write down on paper
their orders. This was the reason for the long line
of hungry customers. It also said that, hard to believe,
these hungry customers did not mind writing things down.
Will their patience last? See the picture at:

-- system cannot change to captions on one TV
A deaf person went to a restaurant. After ordering food
from the menu, he asked the waitress to have the TV
captions turned on. The waitress then asked the bartender
to turn on the captions. The bartender said:
All TV sets are hooked up to one system and we cannot
caption just one TV only
Is the bartender telling the truth? Or is he just
ignorant on how the captioning system works? At many
other bars, there are captions on some TV sets and
no captions on other TV sets. Yet the bartender said
it cannot be done?
-- easier start-ups for the deaf
A deaf businesswoman that promotes ASL products
has used the Title III of the JOBS Act to get
it going. Exactly what is Title III of the JOBS Act?
It is Crowdfunding that helps raise money through
internet contacts, and that it can be used to
buy and sell securities. Complicated? Yes
and no - and if you are thinking of your business
getting started this way, best is to get expert
advice first.
