DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, October 20, 2015 morning
-- a surprise with Derrick Coleman
his suspension has been lifted by the Seattle
Seahawks. Will he play in the Thursday night
game? The doctors must clear him medically
first (concussion tests) just to be on the
safe side.
-- deaf brother to stay, hearing sister to go away
Brother Vladimir Gongora is deaf. Sister Patricia
is hearing. They live with their parents in an
apartment in New York City. They came from El
Salvador, and they both crossed the border to
join their parents, already living in USA.
The U.S. immigration court is saying deaf
brother can stay but hearing sister must
go back. Both of them have been very
close and she is the only one in the family
able to communicate with him (via homemade
sign language). The family is fighting the
deportation order.
