-- a dumb criminal
There are always jokes about criminals that
are dumb. This criminal is not deaf but
pretended to be deaf. He was in the courtroom
in Zimbabwe on charges of robbery. He pretended
to be deaf, hoping to win the judge's
sympathy. Instead, the judge asked for an
interpreter for him! When none could be found,
he was told to stay in jail for two days,
to allow the court to find an interpreter.
Stuck, he suddenly said he admitted he faked
deafness. The angry judge gave him more
prison time. A picture is at:

-- new slogan by World Federation of the Deaf
The World Federation of the Deaf, affiliated with the
United Nations, has come up with a new slogan.
It is:
With Sign Language, I am Equal
-- first deaf person to do a presidential ad
Nyle DiMarco has beoome the first deaf person
to do a televised presidential endorsement
ad. There have been some captioned presidential
endorsements, but not a real live sign language
deaf person. The candidate he has endorsed is
Hillary Clinton. Just don't be surprised if
Trump comes up with a deaf endorser! Presidential
candidates tend to copycat each other.
