DeafDigest - 21 October 2015

DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, October 21, 2015 morning -- deaf case goes through jury selection DeafDigest has mentioned from time to time that a deaf driver and his family were trapped in their car in middle of a "Zombie Walk" parade last year in San Deigo. Some of the parade participants jumped on the car and banged on the windows. Scared, the deaf driver sped away and hit a hearing bystander. This case, vehicular felony, is going to trial this week, hence the jury selection. -- deaf cannot legally consent A newspaper in Orange County, CA ran a story about a paramedic, explaining how he tries to move patients to urgent care centers instead of the hospital emergency rooms. He was said to have made a comment - that is shocking - that the deaf couldn't legally consent (as to where he would be taken to). Did the paramedic actually say it or did the reporter make it up?   past Mid-Week & morning editions: http://deafdigest.com/category/mid-week-news/ 10/18/15 Blue and Gold editions at: http://deafdigest.com/newsletters/
