-- deaf device is hard to sell
A company in USA sells a deaf device - a push button kiosk
at drive in fast food eateries. The deaf driver would
press the button. It will tell the inside staff that the
driver is deaf, and instead of using voice, he would
just drive up to the window. Unfortunately, it is a
difficult device to sell. Only one fast food chain
has bought it; others won't!
-- deaf "cannot" play pro baseball
A newspaper story said:
Howard Bayless, who many will also remember for his tall stature,
gentle spirit and prowess on the baseball field. Those who knew
Howard recall that he had enough ability to play baseball
professionally but was limited by the physical handicap of being
deaf.
Deaf can't play pro baseball? What about Dummy Hoy,
Dummy Taylor, Dick Sipek, Curtis Pride and many
others? The writer of that story is ignorant.
