-- a very bad spoof on deaf on a TV program
Holly Willoughby is a British TV personality. As a joke
she recently "intervied" a puppet. This puppet was
operated by a ventriloquist - and the puppet was
"deaf" with bad speech and bad hearing problems.
Everyone laughed. But was it an insult to the deaf?
Yes!
-- captions, better on TV or Netflix
You watch a movie on TV; you also watch a movie
on Netflix. Which captions are better? With
TV movies, there is always the risk of garbled
captions, especially on re-runs! With Netflix,
the bottom bar often blocks the captions so
need to move the mouse around to force full
captions. Such pros and cons!
