-- UPS fails to throw out truck driving discrimination lawsuit
The UPS tried to throw out the lawsuit by a deaf employee
who wanted to drive trucks. The Minnesota judge said no;
as a result this case will go to trial.
-- social media not accessible to the deaf
A surprise web posting said that social media is not
really accessible to the deaf. It pointed to the
Instagram as an example. It may look very accessible
to the deaf but actually it isn't because the
Instagram "conversation" does not involve the deaf.
As a result, the deaf people are the last to know!
-- deaf nurse voted the best in the region
April Ferguson, who is deaf, is a nurse with the
Saint Anthony's Health Center in Ireland. Her
peers just voted her as the region's best
nurse. She uses sign language with deaf patients.
