-- a former Gallaudet president was lucky
Past Gallaudet president Robert Davila,
himself deaf, was lucky. He was a presidential
appointee - serving as Assistant Secretary for
the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative
Services of the US Department of Education from
1989 to 1993. The president who selected him was
George H.W. Bush. Why was he lucky? He did not
have to pay as much as $1,000 per hour for
attorney fees to make sure he came from a
clean and honest personal and professional
background! This is the advice a political
newspaper gave yesterday for individuals
that wish to be appointed to a high position
by the next president (either Clinton or Trump).
-- captioning law in the Philippines is a joke
There is a new captioning law in Philippines,
but it may be a joke! TV producers do not have
to caption if the program is short or is
between 1:00 am and 6:00 am. A short program
may be a public service announcement. And
there are people that like to stay up at
night but cannot watch captioned programs!
