Nicolas Sorrell, deaf, is a Canadian and wanted to become a horse
racing jockey? All new jockeys must take horse racing classes
from Olds College in Alberta. The college would not allow him to

about it. A few months later the college changed its mind and
allowed him to enroll as a new horse racing student.
-- A Deaf Badge - worth it or not worth it?
Some companies sell deaf badges, deaf pins, deaf T-shirts, etc.
Worth it or not worth it? As an experiment, a deaf woman bought
a Deaf Badge and wore it to the doctor's office, supermarkets,
different shops, different stores, everywhere. Worth it? The
deaf woman said no. Almost no one reads it - and the store
clerks and office receptionists ignore it. Said the woman
"a waste of my money"
-- a surprise visit at a school for the deaf
Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind at Staunton had a visit
that was a big surprise. It was a wandering black bear!
He was running across the campus; everyone stayed inside, and
police was called. The bear left the campus and the police
officer said "the bear seemed pretty peaceful." Apparently the
bear went back to the hills.
