DeafDigest Mid-Week edition - March 27, 2019 -- judge orders UPS to go stand a job lawsuit trial A deaf UPS employee applied for promotion as a driver. UPS refused, and he filed a lawsuit. The UPS asked the judge to throw out the lawsuit. The judge said no, lawsuit must proceed. Keep in mind pay as driver is much better than regular inside UPS jobs. It is taking place in Maryland.   -- SAT board slow to provide interpreter A deaf student, wanting to take SAT exams, asked for an interpreter. She had to wait three months before the SAT College Board would OK the interpreter request. It didn't help that the student's mother is an attorney.   -- deaf is one of four categories In Myanmar (Burma) there are four categories defined by the government. These are physical disability, vision impairment, intellectual disability, and deafness.
