-- something we didn't know about Helen Keller
Even though Helen Keller died in 1968, she continues
as one of the world's most admired individuals. Yet
there is a dark side to her that many people don't
know. She was an advocate - pushing for women's
voting rights, for birth control and for rights
of workers. While she helped set up the American
Civil Liberties Union, she was a member of two
organizations, considered radical in these days -
Socialist Party of America and Industrial Workers
of the World. She, however, was a great person.
