Grace Ihetu, a homeless deaf woman fought the New York
City system to obtain interpreters, not only for
herself, but for her other homeless deaf friends.
And as a huge reward, she was given a home, with
a roof over her head for her family.

A group of engineers at School of Engineering of
Singapore's Nanyang Polytechnic have come up
with a special watch that is supposed to help
the deaf. It will vibrate during fire alarms, car
horns and police sirens.
