OPPORTUNITY: DeafDots News Writer
DeafDots provides “Alerts & News” signed video reports and announcements in American Sign Language (ASL). Launched in September 2020, DeafDots is the first Deaf media news service targeting Deaf Canadians.
The DeafDots News Writer is responsible for the following:
* Knowledgeable and follow news activities that impact Deaf Canadians
* Identify, compile and maintain list of potential stories that impact Deaf Canadians;
* Pursue news leads;
* Upon approval of specific stories, research, interview, compile, write stories that fit established DeafDots news announcer format and length, list sources;
* Assemble stories in script format, editing and revisions, verify information and sources’
* Locate suitable media - visuals and videos - in public domain;
* Upload structured script and media folders to cloud storage;
* Communicate with DeafDots team members;
* Send Thank You email to interviewees’
* Update DeafDots Interviewee List;
* Update Social Media traffic report;
* Post full length and individual videos to website, YouTube and social media platforms following schedules.
The DeafDots News Writer need to be able to write and assemble news stories in announcer format that is conductive to presenting information in both signed and captioning form within scripts with visuals and media. Two scripts with 4 stories in each script is due each month.
Rate is commensurate with experience, this is a freelance month to month work for hire agreement, payment is made monthly. To ask questions: Opportunities@h3world.tv
