-- non-signing deaf trying to communicate with driverless shuttle bus
At the 3rd International Driverless Vehicle Summit,
one of the vehicles demonstrated has a touch screen
that allows sign language communication with
deaf passengers. The big concern is that many
deaf people do not use sign langauge. Would that
sign language vehicle be useless to them?
-- real anger not fake anger
"Hulk" Lou Ferrigno, who is deaf, did not speak while acting his
Hulk Role. He would grunt and roar but not speaking. It showed
a lot of anger. Was it real anger or a fake anger? Lou said
it was real anger. Is that a surprise?
-- buzzing pagers no longer used by some facilities
Some facilities have stopped using buzzing pagers
when there are long waiting lines. Reason
is that many buzzing pagers are broken. Another
reason is that people forget to return their
buzzers when they are called in. This is
not good news for the deaf.
