-- the mystery of no deaf tax deduction
The Bloomsberg Business magazine asked some accountants,
tax attorneys and business professors for some strange
tax laws. They mentioned that while the blind get a
bigger standard deduction, the deaf don't. Why?
Continues to be a mystery for so many years!
-- latest Matt Hamill update
Matt Hamill has never really retired from ultimate
fighting. While the MMA dumped him, he signed a
contract with MMA's rival - WSOF World Series of
Fighting. His next match is on April 20 at Foxwoods
Resort and Casino in Ledyard, CT against Vinny
Magalhaes in the evening's top event. The WSOF has
been publicizing him as the only fighter to have
defeated MMA champion Jon Jones (disqualified for
using an illegal hold). Matt's career record in all
fight divisions is 11 won, 6 lost.
-- the real estate value of Texas School for the Deaf land
DeafDigest mentioned Texas legislators "thinking"
about selling the property of Texas School for the
Deaf. People in Texas are very angry about it. Anyway
what is the value of the school property. Lets'
compare the FBI property in Washington, DC with
the Austin property. Realtors estimate the FBI
property being between $300 million and one billion
for just 6 acres. The sale is coming soon, The
Austin property is 10 times bigger - hence a
possible value of 3 billion to 10 billion dollars!
And speaking of the FBI property, it is where the
old District of Columbia Club for the Deaf was
located (911 Pennsylvania Ave).
